We're still enjoying some glorious weather, with a few showers

We've had another lovely weekend of racing. The forecast of 2kts northerly for Saturday did not (thankfully) come to pass and the Cory-Wright Cup could be sailed at sea. Sunday's conditions were a little more lively and we had plenty of attendance across the Hawk, Handicap and Cockle fleets. Fortunately the rain held off until most were off the water. Full results are available on the website.

We are in the process of creating some training sessions for July and August. These will be 17th, 18th and 31st July and 1st, 2nd, 14th, 15th and 16th August. There will be full information and the ability to book on the website by the end of this week.

The next Women on the Water is scheduled for 20th July and we are planning a post sail, WoW dinner. Places are filling up fast (for the on water part) so please book soon if you wish to come along. If for some reason you cannot come to the session (and you have booked a place) please let us know as soon as you can because we often have other members on a waiting list.

We'd like to remind all members that any incident on the water, particularly a collision (no matter how minor) should be recorded in the incident book. This is kept behind the bar.

We have some exciting sporting fixtures coming up and hope you will join us in the clubhouse to watch with your friends:

  • Wimbledon - Saturday 13th Ladies Singles Final and Sunday 14th Men's Singles Final. We will be putting jugs of Pimms on special offer on both these days.
  • Olympic Sailing - we will show many of the televised sailing events from Marseille. The medal race schedule is as follows:
    • 1st August men's skiff (49er) and women's skiff (49erFX)
    • 2nd August men's and women's windsurfing (iQFOiL)
    • 6th August men's dinghy (ILCA 7) and women's dinghy (ILCA 6)
    • 7th August mixed multihull (Nacra 17)
    • 7th August mixed dinghy (470)
    • 8th August men's and women's kite (Formula Kite Class).

We are still working on getting the front door fixed. We do apologise for the delay with this and thank you all for your patience.
