A great turnout for the bank holiday weekend

We had a fantastic bank holiday here at BSSC. Even with mixed weather, lots of members came along to enjoy the sailing club, both on and off the water.

The wind is forecast to calm down by Thursday when we have the 1st Swallows and Amazons meeting of 2025! They will be meeting at the clubhouse from 15:30 to join our VE Day parade of sail around the harbour. All members are invited to come along, bunting can be provide to decorate your boat (all boats are welcome). There will be a briefing in front of the clubhouse at 15:30 to explain the route and safety cover for this event will also be provided so it's the perfect opportunity to get out on the water for a fun cruise. Next Saturday afternoon we have the Silver Jubilee cup for all-comers which forms part of the Typhoon series and the Robin Rowley trophy for Hawks. Once again, the tides are either too early or too late for racing on Sunday. Sharpie sailors are encouraged to register online for the Les Dye / Lester Southerland weekend on 17th & 18th May with Spring BBQ from 13:00 on Saturday. Everybody is welcome, please book tickets online to join us. Do watch out for Thursday's email with menus for the weekend arriving to your inbox. We always recommend booking your table by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net to avoid disappointment.
