We had a great turnout for racing this weekend. With some Sharpies joining in the Summer points on Saturday to get race ready for the Euros in a few weeks' time.

Unfortunately, the Roger Atkins Round the Island didn't go ahead due to engine trouble with Friends Rib. Race officer Joel set a lovely course stretching from Tern to Nod, taking in the views at Cockle, Line, West and Stone Bank along the way and taking almost an hour and a half to complete! Congratulations to Magnus and Harry for a win against some strong competition.

Check out Joel's start line video on our instagram page. (it's in the story section) and do watch till the end to see Sam Neal's very creative start line tactics. Full results are available on the website

This week for Juniors: We have a Teenagers on the Water session this Friday meet at the clubhouse at 10:45. The last one looked tremendous fun, we will be open for lunch after sailing. On Friday evening we have a Mocktail Happy hour! The Junior fleet captains have joined forces with the clubhouse staff to bring you a happy hour full of fruity, fizzy summer fun. On Friday 18th July, five, expertly crafted, sea themed, alcohol free mocktails will be on offer alongside our normal bar service. Over 18s wishing to add alcohol will need to bring ID please.

On Saturday 19th we have two social sailing events alongside the racing. WoW will be meeting and there are some spaces if you wish to book online. There will also be a trapeze try-out (meeting at 12:30), please send us a quick what's app if you'd like to join. 07747 597 902

Also, for Junior members, the Oram Series is coming up on 23rd, 24th and 25th July. Parents, we do need some assistance with safety cover, please help us out by signing up on the duty roster.

For Sail Training: We need everyone who has signed up to help or to work as an instructor to complete the online self declaration form at your earliest convenience.

We need all instructors to login to the members' hub, click "My profile" and then "My qualifications" to ensure that we have everything we need. You should see current DI or SI certificates, current 1st aid and PB2 certificates. Mary will need a new starter form from EVERYONE who is working as a DI. This can be found on the course information page of the website. You should print the form and add your bank details then take a photograph and email it to members@bssc.net Or you can fill in the form online by clicking this link. Make sure you save the completed form and email it to members@bssc.net we cannot pay you without this information (your form from last year, is no longer valid).

Also on the course information page, you will find the timetable and instructor schedule.

Please note an error in Monday's email: Participants and instructors for sail training are offered a complimentary BBQ ticket valid on Wednesday 30th July. These tickets will need to be collected from the bar (along with any purchased tickets) before the BBQ. Please use this link: https://www.bssc.net/event/1029281 to buy tickets. Do not buy tickets for participants or instructors (no refunds will be offered).

Sailing Week: Tickets are live on the website for you to book! The online format has changed slightly and all tickets now appear in one place (out of my control I'm afraid). Use this link and you will see all the five day tickets listed followed by one day tickets. You will also be able to scroll through the days and buy tickets for the social "pulled pork" night on Tuesday 19th August and the party featuring the Nod performing live on Friday 22nd August. Make sure you go all the way through to the payment confirmation to secure you place. If you have any problems feel free to contact Alex.
