A variety of sailing conditions
We've had more mixed weather here on the coast and our gardens have certainly been thankful for the small amount of rain that we've received. It's set to be really hot again by the end of the week. Fingers crossed for some good conditions for Round The Island race on Sunday. Anybody who likes sailing in strong winds had a fun time on Saturday's Collins Cup. Congratulations Paddy and Kiki for winning the Hawk

windy, gusty or not very windy, we've had it all
We've also had a lovely write up in Yachts and Yachting from our 2000, single hander and asymmetric weekend. Here is the link to the article, well done again to everyone who helped make this event such a success. The first half of last week was very windy but the wind dropped right down to allow lots of members to enjoy a beautiful evening sail on Wednesday. Please check out our

What a Weekend!
We had 8 visiting Laser 2000s and 5 visiting single hander sailors plus 19 club boats participating in this weekend's Asymmetric, 2000 and single hander event. We had glorious hot sunshine on Saturday with little wind, which turned into no wind. Just as the Race offices we're about throw their clipboards in the sea, a tiny breeze from the opposite direction arrived and a 2nd race was achievable. On Sunday it was a completely different story, with 20-30kts

Another Bank Holiday is here :D
Well, unfortunately the warm weather did not last, but fantastic sailing conditions prevailed for the Sharpie fleet this weekend. We had a great turnout of Sharpies from BSSC, Burnham Overy and Wells Sailing club for The Lester Southerland and Les Dye trophies. 14 Sharpies took to the water and although there was little in the way of sunshine, the

Gloriously Sunny (and windy) weekend
Although Thursday was quite chilly, we very much enjoyed the blue skies and warm sunshine this weekend. There was also plenty of wind to keep racing exciting for both sailors and spectators. Many thanks to our members who came along with decorated boats for our on-the-water VE Day parade. You all looked amazing! Thanks to Steve Wightman for organising,

A great turnout for the bank holiday weekend
We had a fantastic bank holiday here at BSSC. Even with mixed weather, lots of members came along to enjoy the sailing club, both on and off the water. We had a great turnout for the Shipwrecked Mariners race on Saturday. Hawks and all-comers raced together in the glorious sunshine and raised £50 for the Shipwrecked Mariners foundation. Will Ellison captured lovely

Gearing up for Bank Holiday
The much anticipated warm weather has arrived! It is glorious here right now and we very much hope that the sunshine and heat will linger on, into the bank holiday weekend. We had slightly smaller turnout for this Saturday's racing. 5 Hawks came to continue the spring series. Which really does conclude next weekend (and not on Saturday as I erroneously suggested previously). Paddy and Sue

Wonderful Easter Weekend
What a brilliant weekend! Even though the temperatures were a little cooler and sometimes the wind was a little stronger than we'd hoped for, it was wonderful to see so many members out on the water and in the clubhouse. Huge congratulations go to Archie Nye, Freddie Inch, Conor Godbold, Sam Macfadyen, Millie Hyatt and Tom Honan who spent all of last
