Teenagers on the water had a lovely time on Friday to mark the start of the school summer holidays for many. ILCA lasers, 2000s and 3000s were out enjoying the beautiful sailing conditions with safety cover provided by Ed, Pea and Simon. If you'd like to stay in touch with all junior fleet activities, please ask to join the BSSC Juniors what's app group.
The Cockle fleet, enjoyed a fun weekend of racing and entertaining with their annual Morston invitational race at BSSC on Saturday, followed by a delicious lunch with their guests in the clubhouse. Seven Cockles braved the rain to race on Sunday with Bill and Mary taking a clean sweep to victory for the weekend.
Two Fireballs, a Laser, a Laser Stratos and a Sharpie competed in the East Anglian Air Ambulance all comers race taking the total trapeze tally on the water to eight!
On Sunday, the Pat Adams and Battson Cups for ladies had a combined turnout of six, congratulations to Liz How for the Battson Cup and Sarah Kemp for the Pat Adams cup.
Full results for the weekend are available on the website and more photos can be viewed on our instagram page.
A spectacular turnout for this week's Women on the Water saw 18 brilliant ladies rig up and launch in Toppers, a Laser 3000, and Laser 2000s for a truly joyful session. There were skills honed, confidence built, and some serious laughter during the now-legendary "throw the ball through the donut" challengeyes, it's harder than it sounds! The afternoon wrapped up in style with cake, cheers, and sandy toes as we celebrated the Admiral's birthday on the beach (with cake!!).
With sunshine, perfect breeze, and non-stop smiles, it couldn't have been a better day on (and off) the water. A huge thank-you to Slug for leading the session and to Bruce and Leyre for donutting with style and smiles! Big welcome to our new WOW sailorswe're so glad you joined, and we can't wait for the next one!
The next WoW will be on 2nd August, use this link to book your place.
This weekend's Trapeze Taster had sailors soaring! With Fireballs, a Laser 3000, Laser Stratos and Lightweight Sharpie out on the water, members got a chance to try their hand at trapezingan exhilarating experience and, for many, an instant addiction. The conditions were just right for testing out balance, coordination, and core strength (plus letting out a few whoops of delight).
Beaming faces at the end said it all. Huge thanks to Alex Angles, Steve Wightman and Teddy Maufe for bringing enthusiasm, co-ordination, spare harnesses and support.
As always, a massive thank you and shout out to safety and support crewsyou are absolutely invaluable. If you haven't volunteered yet this season, please do sign up on the duty roster, not only do you quite literally keep the sailing afloat (pun proudly intended) but it's a lot of fun too! https://www.bssc.net/clubhouse/volunteering
There are still spaces available on the WoW summer camp, here is the link to book.
