Summer and sail training have arrived
Finally, some lovely weather so that everyone can enjoy the balcony again. There was no racing last weekend but the Women on the Water group met up for an afternoon sail on Saturday and the Hawk fleet have enjoyed several social sails with dinner in the clubhouse after. Busy Busy
Well, it's lovely to have a buzz about the clubhouse again. Brian's cooking appears to be very popular, we were fully booked on Friday and Saturday night, Saturday and Sunday lunches were also popular with members coming in after the tide. A very wet start to the weekend
We had a very early and very wet start to racing this weekend. Five boats went out in pouring rain at 06:30 on Saturday morning. Fortunately, it dried up a little (after everyone had been thoroughly rinsed) and some close racing ensued. We're still enjoying some glorious weather, with a few showers
We've had another lovely weekend of racing. The forecast of 2kts northerly for Saturday did not (thankfully) come to pass and the Cory-Wright Cup could be sailed at sea. Sunday's conditions were a little more lively and we had plenty of attendance across the Hawk, Handicap and Cockle fleets. Fortunately the rain held off until most were off the water. It's Summer here :)
We have beautiful weather here in Brancaster Staithe right now and it's set to stay, at least for a short while :D Thank you Chris Spink (and all safety boat volunteers) for running 6 races over our open weekend for single handed and asymmetric boats. Temporary changes to clubhouse service
Finally! Blue skies for this week's photo from the clubhouse. The RNLI pennant race went ahead on Saturday without quite as much wind as had been forecast but with the occasional shower.
