We've had such a mixed week of weather, can we have the sunshine back now please? Dispite the warnings of rain and even thunder storms over the weekend, we had an great turnout once again for WoW and a good show for All-comers summer points and Hawk summer series

The WoW gang were out in force again on Saturday afternoon. With quite light winds, everyone was able to grow their helming confidence and rain did not stop play. They had a lovely dinner in the clubhouse after sailing. All results from weekend racing are available to view on the website and there are more photos of the action from the water on our Instagram page. There are quite a few gaps in the Duty Roster this month. If you can help out on any of the safety boats, please do sign up on the member's hub. You don't need any experience at all to crew the safety boats and it's a great way to view the action on the water. All safety volunteers are offered a complimentary breakfast bap and hot drink after early morning races.

Apologies, the banner on Saturday's email, promoting Try a boat day, mistakenly said Saturday 29th. Saturday 28th June is scheduled to be a Round the Island race and Try a boat day will be held on Sunday 29th June. Many thanks to everyone who already responded with offers to help out on the day.The staff in the proof reading departement have been repremanded ;-p

This Saturday, we will be holding a special "Champagne breakfast", don't worry the full range of non alcoholic and hot drinks will still be available. The bar has an extended license to serve alcohol from 09:30. Breakfast baps will be available from 09:30 and from 10:00 eggs benedict, eggs royal and egggs florentine will be served with a glass of bucks fizz. All members are welcome.

Also this weekend, there will be no shower facilities in the mens changing rooms. We are having some upgrades in anticipation of a very busy summer. We hope to have all the work complete in time for the Single hander, 2000 and asymmetric weekend.

If you sail any single handed dinghy or any asymmetric double hander, please do come along to our open meeting on 21st & 22nd June. This event forms part of the 2000 class association Latitude series so we will be welcoming 2000 sailors from accross the country to this open event. If you are a 2000 owner and would like to join the class association, membership is free for the 1st year. https://www.2000class.org/about/memberships

Entry to the racing is free of charge and there will be a sign up sheet at the briefing on Saturday at 12:30. There will also be a dinner on Saturday 21st, menu choices will be available soon.

The Laser 3000 Nationals will once again be held at BSSC on 7th & 8th August. We're all hoping for more time sailing and less time swimming this year. If you'd like to join the racing, the dinner or both, please use the online sign up. T shirts for this event are also available from Birds of Dereham. All BSSC merchendise can be bought directly from their website.

Do watch out for Thursday's email with Windy.com forecast, race fixtures and menus for the weekend arriving to your inbox. We always recommend booking your table by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net to avoid disappointment.
