Stage 1 provides a basic understanding of how a boat sails, with some experience of steering and handling the boat.

Duration: 2 days

Minimum age: 8 years as of the course start date

Course content: Launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat, basic sailing

Ability after course: Able to steer and understand basic principles
