Gearing up for Bank Holiday

The much anticipated warm weather has arrived! It is glorious here right now and we very much hope that the sunshine and heat will linger on, into the bank holiday weekend.

We had slightly smaller turnout for this Saturday's racing. 5 Hawks came to continue the spring series. Which really does conclude next weekend (and not on Saturday as I erroneously suggested previously). Paddy and Sue have made a spectacular start to their racing season, can anyone catch them next weekend? All results are available to view on the website.

There is all to play for within the All-comers Club Cups series which continues on Sunday and Monday next weekend.

Next Saturday we have the Shipwrecked Mariners Pennant Race which forms part of the Typhoon series and has a £5 entry fee donated to the RNLI. You can sign up and pay onlinewith credit or debit card or pay cash to the Race Officer.

The clubhouse will be open for the Bank holiday with breakfast after morning races, an additional dinner service on Sunday evening and lunch on Monday. Full opening times are shown below.

In 10 days time (08.05.25) we have the 1st Swallows and Amazons meeting of 2025! They will be meeting at the clubhouse from 16:00 all ages and abilities are welcome. Please contact Rosie for more information. Also on Thursday 8th May there will be a parade of sail around the harbour. All members are invited to dress their boats in bunting for this fun sail (all boats welcome). We will meet at 16:00 for a quick briefing before heading out to the harbour. There will be safety cover for this event so it's the perfect opportunity to get out on the water for a fun sail with others.

Sharpie sailors are invited to register online for the Les Dye / Lester Southerland weekend on 17th & 18th May. This is an open event and we hope to see lots of Sharpies brushing up their racing skill for this year's Sharpie European Championships which will be held here at BSSC in August!

On Saturday 17th May we will be holding a Spring BBQ from 13:00. Everybody is welcome, please book tickets online to join us.

Do watch out for Thursday's email with menus for the weekend arriving to your inbox. We have already received bookings for the May bank holiday and always recommend booking your table by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net to avoid disappointment.
