Well, unfortunately the warm weather did not last, but fantastic sailing conditions prevailed for the Sharpie fleet this weekend.

We had a great turnout of Sharpies from BSSC, Burnham Overy and Wells Sailing club for The Lester Southerland and Les Dye trophies. 14 Sharpies took to the water and although there was little in the way of sunshine, the wind was perfect. Congratulations to Paddy Spink and Tim Andrews for winning the Lester Southerland tiller and to Will Gibbs and Charlie Orton for winning the Les Dye Trophy. Full results can be viewed online. Many thanks to all our safety boat crews. More photos are on our Instagram.

We now have a 2nd club mobile number! If you'd like to speak to Alex about anything to do with membership, dinghy parking, invoicing, the website, the members' hub or a special event, please continue to use the number 07747 597902. If you wish to book a table for dinner or have any clubhouse related query please call 07503 723992.

We have now allocated dinghy parking spaces to everyone on the waiting list. For the first time in years we actually have some spaces left over! So, if you would like a parking space for your sailing dinghy (large or small) or for a tender under 3.5m long, please do email us. There are also spaces for single kayaks and SUPs on the rack.

Calling RYA Instructors! There is one space remaining on the Race Coach Level 2 training course at BSSC on 19th & 20th July. The course price is £200, for more information and to sign up please use this link to the RYA website.

Next weekend is Spring bank holiday and there will be plenty to get involved with both on and off the water. Swallows and Amazons will meet at Burnham Overy this Thursday but BSSC will still be open for dinner from 17:00 - 20:00. There will be a Minuty Happy hour on Friday evening from 18:00 - 19:00. On Saturday Women on the Water will meet and the Whitsun races will take place. The Cockles meet for a beach picnic and their infamous "Le Mans Start" for what will be their first race of the season. On Monday 26th May we will be holding the RNLI pennant race. Entry for this race is £5 per boat. Please bring cash for the race officer OR book online (so that our clubhouse staff may be available to serve you coffee and breakfast after the race). We will be closed on Tuesday and reopen on Wednesday for dinner and remain open until lunchtime on Sunday 1st June.

Do watch out for Thursday's email with Windy.com forecast, race fixtures and menus for the weekend arriving to your inbox. We always recommend booking your table by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net to avoid disappointment.
