We had a brilliant Sail Training 2025. Huge thanks to the organisers and volunteers and well done to all participants who worked so hard to pass their courses. There are some photos (taken on Monday) on the website and on Facebook as well as a short video. We hope you like it. There is also a feedback form online if you wish to assist in making ST26 even better.

WoW also had a very successful sail out on Saturday and The Cockle fleet braved the rain on Sunday to complete race 6 in their season series. Full results for the weekend are available on the website and more photos can be viewed on our Instagram page and FaceBook pages. Unfortunately, due to storm Floris, the on water activities planned for the WoW summer camp are unlikely to go ahead.

We have been notified that there have been reports locally of outboard engine thefts! Please do all that you can to ensure your property is secure at all times.

The Topper Safari has been a sell out and we are trying to find additional safety cover for this event. If you can help with this, please let us know and we will release more tickets. Email members@bssc.net if you have a suitable boat for harbour rescue cover on Wednesday evening.

We do have spaces available for race coaching on Wednesday for Lasers and Thursday for everyone else. Online entries are still available for Laser 3000 Nationals and for Sharpie European Championships, via the British Sharpie Owners Association website.

Important information to members for Sharpie week AND Sailing Week:

Boats will be moved from some areas of the dinghy park this Wednesday to make space for the marquee. If your boat has been relocated, please look in the next door gardens for it.

Please lable your launching trolly clearly with your surname and sail number. Our wonderful hard marshals want to help you get on and off the water as efficiently as possible, so they need to be able to identify each trolly.

During Sharpie week (10th to 15th August) there are a number of events in the marquee. Tickets for these events can be purchased from the organisers' office which will be located in the garage of the clubhouse.

  • Monday 11th: 6pm "Burger Night"
  • Wednesday 13th: 6pm "British Night"
  • Friday 15th: Prizegiving, evening meal & disco

Members of BSSC are still able to book tables by email, for a la carte dining in the clubhouse on these nights.

If you have a trophy at home from Sailing Week 2024, please make sure that you have it engraved and returned to the clubhouse by 10th August.

We will be holding a summer quiz in the marquee on the Sunday after sailing week. We hope you can join us for an informal evening of fun quizzing and a buffet of Lamb or veggie tagine. Please book your dinner online. Teams of up to 8 people can enter and £10 per team will be collected on the night.
