We're still enjoying gorgeous weather (I'm never going to get tired of saying this). A little rain has been very welcome but the sunshine and high temperatures are making life extremely pleasant. Fingers crossed for enough wind this weekend.

Please note an error in Monday's email: Participants and instructors for sail training are offered a complimentary BBQ ticket valid on Wednesday 30th July. These tickets will need to be collected from the bar (along with any purchased tickets) before the BBQ. Please use this link: https://www.bssc.net/event/1029281 to buy tickets. Do not buy tickets for participants or instructors (no refunds will be offered).

Swallows and Amazons will be meeting at BSSC this afternoon, we are forecast a light breeze for a lovely evening sail. Last orders for food 20:45.

On the water:

We have some safety boat volunteer slots that need filling for both Saturday and Sunday, a complimentary breakfast is yours to claim when you come off the water! Simply click on this link: https://www.bssc.net/login and look for Duty Roster in the Members' Hub. You need no experience at all to crew a safety boat. Anybody wishing to helm, who is not yet signed off should contact Stephen Harvey directly by email.

This weekend, we will be concluding the all comers summer series, continuing the Hawk summer series, beginning the Under 25s 2000 series, and the Cruiser fleet are off on another mini voyage, they are already underway with cruising chutes flying beautifully! On Sunday we hope to race around Scolt Head Island, usually we try for three of these races in a sailing season. Unfortunately, one has been changed due to a clashing fixture in Burnham Overy Harbour and another was rerouted due to very gusty conditions. Fingers crossed there will be sufficient wind for the race this Sunday to go ahead as planned.

Off the water:

We will be open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be breakfast baps after sailing on Saturday and Sunday.

To avoid the risk of disappointment, please book ahead by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net if you wish to dine at the sailing club. The menu for this weekend is shown below and there will be specials on the blackboard in addition.

We are very excited to announce our first Mocktail happy hour! This will be on the same day as our 2nd Teenagers on the Water event for 2025. The Junior fleet captains have joined forces with the clubhouse staff to bring you a happy hour full of fruity, fizzy summer fun. On Friday 18th July, five, expertly crafted, sea themed, alcohol free mocktails will be on offer alongside our normal bar service. Over 18s wishing to add alcohol will need to bring ID please.

As we go into the summer holidays, we highly recommend younger members to carry ID - your drivers license is ideal. If you appear to be under 25 years old, our staff will be asking for proof of age. Once asked, if you cannot show ID, we will be unable to serve you alcohol. Please do not rely on us to be able to look this up for you. It is your responsibility to prove your age.
