windy, gusty or not very windy, we've had it all

The first half of last week was very windy but the wind dropped right down to allow lots of members to enjoy a beautiful evening sail on Wednesday. Please check out our facebook page for more photos from Charlie Parfitt.
The wind began to build again in time for Saturday morning. Starting early for the Kendle Cup Island race, in very gusty conditions, it was agreed that a more sensible proposition would be a race to Titchwell and back. Even this proved to be very challenging. Huge congratulations to everyone who completed the race and a massive thank you to all the safety boat helms and crews for looking after everyone. Full results are available on the website.
It couldn't have been more different on Sunday, with sunshine and a light breeze, we had great conditions. The Cockles had a eight boats competing in the third race for their series and we had lots of fun trying out different boats. Thank you Clive for organising and to everyone who volunteered their time and their boats, it was the perfect opportunity (and the perfect weather) to play. Coming up in July; next weekend we have the Collins cup and Drascombe pursuit race, both of which form part of the Typhoon series for all comers. The Hawks have their Champagne race and the Cockles will be out for their fourth race of the series on Saturday. On Sunday we will see previous Commodore's competing in the 1st Commodore's Cup, it should be a great spectacle as they will be class racing in Cockles!
The following weekend will see the conclusion of Summer points for all comers, the continuation of the Hawk Summer Series, the 2000 U25 series and the Roger Atkins Black tie round the island race.
