This bank holiday weekend and half term

And finally the weather got it (almost) right - wind, sun and water all at the same time on Saturday and Sunday morning, although you'd be forgiven for saying it was a little early and with wind blowing from the north it was certainly "fresh"! Results from the Shipwrecked Mariners and Drascombe pursuit races are on the website.
We continue to test the online booking features on the Members Hub. It is now possible to sign up for next weeks' RNLI Pennant race and pay your donation online. You can also donate without racing by purchasing a ticket, 100% of the proceeds go to the RNLI. We will be using this online ticket function more in the future so please make sure that you can login (associate members should also be able to log in). You don't need a membership number - only your email. If you are having any difficulty please get in touch with us by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net or call 07747 597 902.
Swallows and Amazons had a fantastic evening sail last Thursday, with perfect wind and gorgeous sunshine. A big thank you to Rosie for organising and to all the volunteers who supported this event with safety boat cover. This Thursday Swallows and Amazons really will be meeting at Burnham Overy Staithe (sorry for any confusion last week). Children of all ages are welcome, if you'd like to join in please contact Rosie Newport.
There's a lot going on next (bank holiday) weekend: We will be open for a la carte dinner service on Friday. On Saturday there is racing planned for Handicap, Cockle and Hawk fleets and the adult RYA courses begin. On Sunday the RNLI pennant race is scheduled for Handicap and Hawk fleets, you can still pay in cash on the day and the clubhouse will be open for lunch and dinner. On bank holiday Monday we will hold the Whitsun Regatta cup race and the clubhouse will be open from 2pm until 10pm with a la carte dinner service. We have some unfilled volunteer spaces on safety boats over the weekend so if you are available to help, please go to the members hub and look for "Duty Roster". You will see who is already signed up and blue "Volunteer" buttons where we need assistance. We cannot safely cover these on water activities without the help of members.
We anticipate the weekend being busy in the clubhouse with the lunchtime tides, so highly recommend you book tables in advance to avoid any potential disappointment. We will be open every evening during half term so that members may enjoy drinks on the balcony after sailing and a la carte dinner service until 9pm. |
