Weekly update from the Clubhouse

We have had more mixed weather this weekend with some wind and no sun on Saturday and lovely sunshine but very little wind on Sunday. Swallows and Amazons enjoyed a fantastic meeting on Thursday afternoon, rigging Toppers and playing in the creeks at low tide with scampi & chips for supper after. The Sharpie fleets from Brancaster Staithe, Burnham Overy Staithe and Wells-Next-The-Sea Sailing clubs met for the Lester Southerland Trophy, competing in four races over two days. Congratulations Chris and Maddie Gibbs from Wells for this year's win. Full results are available to view on our website. Sharpie fleet members and their guests also enjoyed a fabulous curry supper in the clubhouse on Saturday night. Women on the Water (WoW) met up for the first social sail of the season on Saturday afternoon. We sailed up the creek towards Burnham Overy, pausing for tea and cakes before heading back for drinks in the clubhouse.
Renewals must be completed by the end of this month. Any unpaid dinghy parking will be re allocated to members on the waiting list on the 1st June. If you are having any difficulty logging into our members hub please get in touch by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net or calling 07747 597 902. We are continuing to develop the Member's Hub and have now completed the 1st trial of online bookings (congratulations RYA adult sail training participants!) All members (full and associate) should have access to the members hub. If you are unable to login please contact us so the we can fix any issues. In the near future all events (social, courses and on the water events) will be bookable through our website.
Anyone who has paid for dinghy parking may collect their sticker from the clubhouse anytime we are open. If you recently collected a sticker for parking in row H, we have been sent new stickers to replace the misprinted ones, do ask us when you are next here. It would help everyone if all members park in the correct place, please check the maps on the notice board by the entrance. If you are not sure where to park please ask us.
This Thursday afternoon Swallows and Amazons will meet at BSSC clubhouse for a sailing session. Children of all ages are welcome, if you'd like to join in please contact Rosie Newport. We will be open for a la carte dinner service on Friday. On Saturday we have our annual "Shipwrecked Mariners' Pennant" race for Handicap and Hawk fleets, we will be holding our 1st Kayak & SUP flotilla in Mow Creek and the Cruiser Fleet are racing to Deepdale. On Sunday the Drascombe Trophy Pursuit Race is scheduled for Handicap and Hawk fleets. Breakfast will be served after racing on Saturday from 08:45 and in Sunday from 09:00. |
