What a fabulous weekend we've had!

What a fabulous bank holiday we've had! The weather on Friday was truly awful all day but on Saturday, Sunday and Monday we enjoyed mild and sunny weather with light winds. Racing went ahead with good attendance across the fleets. Results are all available to view on the website. Our social events were also very well attended with Minuty selling fast on Saturday night and our new American Pale Ale becoming extremely popular on Sunday (we sold a whole keg!).

Stainless steel tags for each parking space have been installed in all the dinghy parks so please make the effort to put your boat in the correct place. Stickers are available for collection in the clubhouse anytime when we are open.

If you have applied for a place for your child to participate in Sail Training 2024, you should have received an email today with information about course dates and a separate emailed invoice for the course. Once you have paid the invoice, we will be able to confirm your place(s) and preferred dates (where choices are available). If you wish to indicate your date preference (after you have completed payment), please email the sail training team directly:bsscsailtraining@yahoo.co.uk

Next weekend, is the first Sharpie event of 2024. If you are a Sharpie sailor and plan to take part in the Lester Southerland weekend, please register online by Wednesday. This is an open event so we hope to welcome sailors from across the North Norfolk coast. There will be a "lasagne-lunch" on Saturday for the fleet and friends so if you are not planning to sail but would like to join the lunch, please email us directly (letting us know if you are vegetarian).

Spaces are filling fast for our first Women on the Water session on 18th May. Please do use the online booking form to let us know how you would like to take part.

So with one bank holiday weekend almost over, it's time to start looking forward to the next one!

Thursday 23rd May:

• Swallows and Amazons will meet at BSSC so the clubhouse will be open from 16:00 with food from 18:00 until 21:00.

Friday 24th May:

• Nick Williams has a Power boat course with available spaces running on Friday and Saturday, use this link to book.

Saturday 25th May:

• Racing for dinghies and Hawks followed by breakfast in the clubhouse.

Sunday 26th May:

• Kendle Cup, the first Round the Island race of 2024 is scheduled to start at 08:00 with a briefing at 07:00. Don't forget to attend the briefing and sign on, or you will not get a result!
• Please email Phill Smith if you would like to attend the Cruiser launching lunch.
• Donn your best floral frock (or shirt), tickets are now available for our Spring Party! An all inclusive ticket can be purchased online for £38 and an alcohol free ticket is £20. Beer, larger, cider, house wines, prosecco, soft drinks, canapés and supper are included in the ticket price. A wrist band will be provided on arrival to assist our staff.

Monday 27th May:

• Whitsun races, a Cockle beach picnic and a Kayak/USP flotilla should help to clear any cobwebs the next morning and the clubhouse will remain open until after lunch to round off the weekend.

Breakfast will be available, in the clubhouse, after racing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and there are plenty of volunteer slots to fill over the bank holiday weekend too, so we look forward to seeing many of you here (both on and off the water) at some point over the weekend.
