Happy Coronation Weekend

Coronation day was very rainy here, although probably not as bad as London. Light winds appear to be a feature this spring but it didn't deter racers from Hawk and Handicap fleets on Saturday, Sunday and Monday followed by breakfast. Results for this weekend are on the website. It was lovely to see so many members after the beacon lighting on Saturday evening.
We were finally able to enjoy a sunset on the balcony on Sunday evening with glorious sunshine and warm southerly breeze. Monday's "Big Help" litter pick along the coastal paths, up on the common, around the village and in the harbour was attended by 48 people who remained dry (despite the showery forecast) and enjoyed a fabulous spread of tea and home made cakes, flapjacks, shortbread and other delights.
This Thursday we have our first Swallows and Amazons meeting. Children of all ages are welcome, if you'd like to join in please contact Rosie Newport. On Saturday and Sunday there will be races for Handicap, Hawk and Sharpie fleets. If you would like to attend the Sharpie Supper on Saturday evening, Please contact James Nunn before Tuesday evening with your menu choices. Women on the Water will also be meeting on Saturday at 11:30 for their first get together of the season. It's fun and informal but in order to manage safety and ensure everyone gets to sail we'd love you to fill in this online form. There will also be a "novice racer" event on Sunday meeting at 12:30. |
