Sunny September
Published 17:51 on 2 Sep 2024
We've had a cracking summer here and wish to thank all our members for supporting the club so enthusiastically over the past month. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all our amazing staff. In the bar, Keith was supported by Sam, Yasmin, Amy, Poppy, Lucy, Molly, Evie, Bella, Charlotte, and Angus. In the kitchen we were fortunate to enjoy amazing food from Brian and his team Joe, Oscar, Francesca, Sam, Magnus, Bradley, Jake, Henry and Toby. Many members enjoyed the afternoon tides and warm weather last week followed by drinks and early suppers on the balcony. On Saturday afternoon the Hawks went out in blustery conditions to complete their August series and the handicap Autumn points got underway with one slightly lonely and very damp Laser (well done James)! Full race results are available to view on the website. Have your say: Our members survey is open online for all members to let us know your thoughts and comments on all aspects of the club: sailing, catering, communications and your ideas for the future. All responses are anonymous and confidential and your email address is not collected. Next weekend 7th & 8th September we have the Les Dye trophy for Sharpies. Entry for the weekend is free and open online please indicate on the entry if you wish to join the dinner on Saturday evening, we will need to know how many to cater for by this Thursday (5th). The following weekend of 14th & 15th September is the annual Brancaster Staithe Sea Shanty Festival. Shanty bands will rove around five venues and raises funds for the local Maritime Search & Rescue stations, such as the National Coastwatch (NCI) and RNLI. More information regarding performance times, venues and the charities supported is available on this website. On the weekend of September 21st 22nd, we will be holding an open "mini regatta". This is also free to enter and we hope to attract sailors from other sailing clubs. Please sign up online if you'd like to join in. We do still need a few on-water volunteers for the weekends 14th, 15th and 21st 22nd. Please use this link https://www.bssc.net/roster to take a look and sign up for a duty one weekend. |
