A very mixed bag of sailing conditions here

It's been a mixed bag of weather here this week. Storm Lilian prevented any racing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Sadly the Laser 3000 series had to be cancelled. You may have seen video footage of our superhero, Bruce go swimming to rescue a Laser 2000 on Friday morning! Everything calmed down for the weekend and we had a great turnout for round the island with fabulous sailing conditions. The cool kids in the photo crossed the finish line in 1 hour 17 mins! Meanwhile the even cooler kids were caught on video almost airborne. Watch the footage here and keep your eye on this pair, they're coming for senior fleet silverware in the near future!

Full race results are available to view on the website.

The following weekend 7th & 8th September we have the Les Dye trophy for Sharpies and look forward to welcoming Sharpie sailors from Wells, Blakeney and Burnham Overy sailing clubs. Entry for the weekend is free and open online.

On the weekend of September 21st 22nd, we will be holding an open "mini regatta". This is also free to enter and we hope to attract sailors from other local clubs. Please sign up onlineif you'd like to join in. If you entered races for Lester Southerland Tiller, Sailing week or any other open event in the last 18 months, your login has been reactivated so that you can sign up with ease. If you do not yet have a login or have any difficulty with the online entry, please email the_clubhouse@bssc.net or call 07747 597902.

Thank you to everyone who answered the call to assist on the water. So many empty slots have been filled this past week. There are a few gaps remaining, especially from mid September onwards. Please use this link https://www.bssc.net/roster to take a look and sign up for a duty one weekend.

It's been lovely to see so many members this summer and many of you have brought guests along (which is also great to see). Please remember to sign your guests into the book by the front door. This is a requirement in accordance with club rules.

Our menu for this week is below. We strongly advise members to email and book a table inside, tables outside are available on a strictly first come first served basis. We will always do our best to accommodate walk-ins but recommend that members book ahead wherever possible to avoid disappointment.
