Despite warnings of thunderstorms, the warm weather prevailed so that more members could enjoy eating and drinking on the balcony from Thursday through to Sunday. The met office have forecast heavy rain here for tomorrow (so that will make the gardens happy) and next weekend we are due more fabulous sunshine with wind ... drum roll please... from the south west! The Collins Cup pursuit race was attended by members of the Laser and Hawk fleets on Saturday evening, results are on the website.

Swallows and Amazons met for a sailing session on Thursday evening and enjoyed the most amazing conditions out in the harbour. This week they will be getting together at 4pm at Burnham Overy Staithe for a low water session and also a sailing session on Saturday at Brancaster Staithe. Children of all ages are welcome, if you'd like to join in please contact Rosie Newport. The clubhouse at BSSC will be open for a limited a la carte dinner service for all members.

This morning (Monday 19th June), two gentlemen arrived and used the door code to let themselves in. At 08:27 they left the clubhouse dressed for sailing (one in a red baseball cap) and left the front door wide open so that anyone could walk right in and access the downstairs areas of our clubhouse. Durning the sailing season, members are welcome to access the changing facilities when there are no staff on site, however the security of the building then becomes everyone's responsibility, the solution is very simple, please close the door behind you.

Next weekend races are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday for Hawks and novice racers with breakfast from 11:30 on Saturday (no breakfast on Sunday). We are short one crew for Spindrift on Sunday, so if you are able to help out, please login and sign up at the Duty Roster page. No experience is necessary, warm clothing, a life jacket and maybe some snacks are all you need. If you have any difficulty using the duty roster feature, please feel free to call 07747 597 902 and we'll happily talk you through.

There is also a Hawk fleet supper on Saturday evening so if you are a Hawk sailor or would just like to meet up with other Hawk sailors, please get in touch with Clive Odell to book.
