Entry for Sailing Week 2023 is now open!

We continue to be blessed with absolutely stunning weather with enough wind for beautiful sailing conditions. The W. H. Loose Challenge Trophy was attended by 11 Hawks with very close race times and some split second finishes, results are on the website. Congratulations to Paddy and Sue for their impressive win (four 1st places!) and to Robert Boyce and his crew Henry Head who were both racing for the very first time! Our apologies to the members who came for novice racing on Saturday, a Novice racing session was held on Sunday and it's always fantastic to welcome new helms into the racing fleets. Well done everybody!

Sailing Week 2023:

We are delighted to announce a new online booking process for your entry to Sailing Week 2023! A lot of hours have been spent creating and testing this fully tailored system but until we go live, we cannot know for sure if there are any issues, so your patience is much appreciated. If you have any issues purchasing your ticket, please email the_clubhouse @bssc.net or call us on 07747 597 902.

The tickets for Sea Fleet 5 day entrants will be on sale from Monday 26th June 12:00. Tickets for Sea Fleet 1 day entrants and all Harbour fleet entrants including Cockle fleet will be on sale from Tuesday 27th June 12:00.

The quantity of tickets on sale is based on the availability of safety boat cover. If you have a motor boat and are interested in volunteering yourself and your boat, please get in touch with Caroline Watson by email. Once tickets are sold out entrants will be added to a waiting list. Your place is confirmed when you have completed your payment and received an email confirmation. It is your responsibility to read the documents posted on the website. Step by step instructions for buying the tickets are also on the website.

This year the sailing week events include a Hog Roast on Tuesday 8th August a BBQ on Thursday 10th August followed by a Junior disco and a very special event on Saturday 12th August, details of which will be announced next week. Tickets for these social events will also be available online until 7 days before the event. After this time they will be available from the bar until 48 hours before the event (or until they sell out).

If you have a trophy from Sailing Week 2022, please return it before the end of July.

Swallows and Amazons met for a low water session at Burnham Overy Staithe on Thursday evening. This week they will meet at the same time, same place at Burnham Overy Staithe for another low water session and meeting on Sunday. Children of all ages are welcome, if you'd like to join in please contact Rosie Newport. The clubhouse at BSSC will be open for a limited a la carte dinner service for all members on Thursday evening.

Next weekend the cruisers will be joined by other members of the Parker Seal Sailing Association for a sail to Wells-Next-The-Sea and back. The East Anglian Air Ambulance race is scheduled on Saturday for dinghies and Hawks, tickets can be purchased on the day or in advance via the website and are non refundable. If you wish to make a donation to the EAAA, you can buy a ticket (or multiple tickets even if you don't intend to race. The entire ticket fee is donated. The Cockle fleet have invited racers from Morston and there will be dinner on Saturday evening. Places for dinner must be booked directly with Gordon Rustinby Tuesday.

Opening times from Thursday 29th June to Sunday 2nd July:
Thursday 17:30 until 22:00 dinner service from 18:00 until 21:00. (HW 15:31).
Friday 17:30 until 22:00 dinner service from 18:00 until 21:00. (HW 16:32)
Saturday 11:30 until 22:00 lunch service from 12:00 until 15:00 and dinner service 18:00 until 21:00. (HW 17:30)
Sunday 11:30 until 16:00, lunch service from 12:00 until 15:00. (HW 18.28). We will be closed from 16:00 on Sunday afternoon for a private party.

Below is our new July menu. There will also be sweet and savoury bar snacks available all day, these cannot always be kept on the bar due to food safety regulations so please do ask staff what is available. If you have any questions regarding special dietary requirements please ask us when ordering your food.

We recommend reserving a table in advance by email especially for large groups. Tables of 8 or more people should email a pre order from the menus below.
