There's still plenty going on here: We've had some great sailing this weekend, with 20 boats participating, early on Saturday morning, in our final round the island for 2023. Then Jamieson and Junior Jamieson trophies on Sunday. Results are all on the website.

Our instructor team have been kept busy with sailing lessons this week. Social sailing and lessons are still available until the bank holiday weekend. Women on the Water will also meet next Sunday after lunch. To book any of these, please see the online booking page for availability.

There are still tickets available for the "Frocks & Flipflops" drinks party to celebrate the end of the Summer season on Sunday August 27th. Tickets for this include drinks at the bar from 18:30 until 21:30 and are available to book online. We will be issuing a wristband on arrival for each person booked to make it easy for the bar crew on the night.

There will be more junior racing this Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday. Races are also planned for dinghy, Hawk and Cockle fleets on Saturday and Sunday. The junior AGM and prize giving will take place on Monday 28th.

On Thursday 31st August there will be a talk at Thornham Village Hall about raising the Mary Rose followed by supper and wine. Speaker, Malcolm Cockell will begin the talk at 19:15, tickets are £25 per person and should be booked by email with Jonny McIrvine

There is plenty going on in September too: The Les Dye trophy weekend is on 16th and 17th and we will be able to enjoy roving Sea Shanty groups, performing in the sailing club and across the village on both afternoons.

The Eastern Region Topper training weekend will be held in Brancaster Staithe on 23rd and 24th September participants should book directly on the ITCA website. There will be a training session on Saturday morning and racing on the tides on Saturday and Sunday. If you would be able to volunteer with any form of safety craft or boats capable of transporting 1 or 2 parents at a time to observe the action, please contact Ed Medcalf by email if you can help. Key criteria will be ability to operate on a 7.0m tide.
