Temporary changes to clubhouse service

Finally! Blue skies for this week's photo from the clubhouse. The RNLI pennant race went ahead on Saturday without quite as much wind as had been forecast but with the occasional shower.

The Collins Cup pursuit race on Sunday was attended only by Hawk racers (photo from Chris Spink) making the process greatly simplified!

Eight Cockles also went out to race having renewed their "rules of racing" theory with Slug & Bruce in the morning. All results are on the website.

Please check out the Facebook page for more photos from the weekend

What a fab afternoon on the water with the Wow women, in 4 laser 2ks, and a wayfarer. Not only did we somehow get the Nod to ourselves, free to throw Bob (not a real person - a red buoy with chain attached) overboard again and again, but we also had cake, brownies, flapjack and hot drinks! There were many smiles, personal achievements and a bloomin great sail out. Massive thanks to Slug, Bill, Bruce, bakers and lenders-of-boats for facilitating a wonderful piece of rain-dodging and fun.

The code pad, handle and lock mechanism to the front door appears to have come to the end of it's useful life. Keith has repaired it several times this weekend and now placed an order for a replacement. There will be no access to the clubhouse facilities outside opening times (listed below) until the replacement handle arrives. We apologise for any inconvenience but hope you understand that the situation is outside our control.

Now that Dirk has left us, there will be no food service until 12th July when we welcome Brian to the team. However, Keith has kindly offered to provide a breakfast service next weekend and on 6th and 7th July.

On Friday 21st we will hold a Minuty rose happy hour but due to the tide time (19:04) we have decided to change the happy hour to be between 20:00 and 21:00. We will be buying in some fresh deli bar snacks and hope that many of you will support the evening.

Registration for the single hander and asymmetric weekend will remain open until the briefing at 0600 on Saturday 22nd. Please sign up online https://www.bssc.net/event/single-handed-asymmetric-weekend even if you can only attend one day. Sailing Instructions are available to view using the link above.

Due to high demand, Nick Williams has added some extra powerboat dates. The additional courses will take only 2 participants and dates are: 6th - 7th July and 18th and 20th July (yes, this one is not running on consecutive days). For more information please check the online calendar or booking page.
