Sunny but cold

Published 19:24 on 16 Oct 2023
Due to the very early tides, racing this weekend was confined to Sunday morning. What a glorious morning it was and a few members did venture out into the chill for the final series of the season. All results are on the website. As you can see from the photo, the stunning sunshine lasted all day and a few members joined us in the afternoon to watch England play in the Rugby quarterfinal against Fiji. Next weekend is the final racing weekend of 2023 with the conclusion of Trafalgar Trophy and Hawk Last on the water series. The clubhouse will be open after sailing on Saturday and Sunday. We will also be showing the Rugby World Cup semifinal between England and South Africa at 8pm on Saturday. Please book tables by email and specify if you would like a table with a good view of the screen. Hopefully you will have received the update regarding changes to the timetable on Saturday 28th. We will now be holding a Laying Up Lunch - food will be served at 13:15 and you are welcome to come to the clubhouse any time from 12:00. The menu choices have not changed but scampi and chips will also be available for any children attending please emailto book (don't forget to let us know what you'd like to eat). Lunch will be followed by prize giving at 14:30 and all members are invited to the AGM at 15:00. The cruiser fleet will be having a lunch and prize giving on Sunday 29th, please book directly with Phill Smith to attend. The Cockle fleet will also be having a laying up and prize giving supper on Saturday 4th November. Anyone wishing to attend should contact Gordon Rustinto book. We have been notified that some kayaks were recently stolen from Blakeney Sailing Club. BSSC has installed a dedicated high definition CCTV covering our kayak rack but we recommend that any members who store kayaks at Brancaster Staithe ensure that they are well secured with a strong lock. We would like to remind all members that any guests entering the clubhouse must be signed into the visitors book which is located by the front door. There is no limit to the number of guests you can sign in but the same guest may not be introduced on more than four days in one year during the sailing season. For more details on club rules and policies, please refer to the website. Opening times this weekend are: Friday 17:30 until 21:30 dinner service from 18:00 until 21:00. (HW 10:17) Below is our October menu, there will also be specials on the blackboard, please do ask staff what is available. If you have any questions regarding special dietary requirements please ask us when ordering your food. We recommend you book your table by email. A pre order is needed for tables of more than 6 people. Tables of 12 or more people may be asked to choose from a set menu. We do hope to see you all soon. | ||
