RYA Stage 2 (3 day course)
Stage 2 teaches a range of sailing skills and knowledge to help in becoming a confident sailor. It is a demanding course and particularly challenging to sail in Brancaster Staithe so many children will achieve some but not all of the skills required to pass in 3 days.
Children sail in pairs in a Topper. If the child doesn't have a topper we will buddy them up with one that does.
Assumed knowledge: Strongly encourage all applicants to have passed the Stage 1 course
Duration: 3 days
Minimum age: 8 years as of the course start date
Course content: Basic sailing skills, ropework, collision avoidance
Ability after course: Able to tack and control boat speed, and understand basic principles
