Looking ahead to August

The weather seems to be stubbornly stuck on blustery wind, squally showers and very little sunshine. However, all racing went ahead with a good turnout for the Asymmetric and Single Hander weekend. A big thank you to race officers and safety boat crews who endured 2 days of rain to ensure these races went ahead. Results are available on the website.

Big Congratulations go out to all 13 participants who successfully completed their RYA Assistant Instructor course yesterday! Huge appreciation goes to the Senior Instructors out on the water in pouring rain. Well done everyone!!

Our volunteer hero for July is Bill Andrews, who has been mowing all the grass in the dinghy park. With all this rain, it's been a non stop job!

North West Norfolk Sailing Week starts on Monday 31st July with racing at Brancaster Staithe at 17.15. A second day of racing is planned for Tuesday 1st August at 06.45. Malcolm Collins and his team will put on excellent racing courses on those days so do please join in. The clubhouse will be open for breakfast from Tuesday at 08:30, Wednesday at 08:30, Thursday at 09:15, Friday at 09:30, Saturday at 09:30 and Sunday at 11:00. We anticipate the club being very busy so recommend booking a table for dinner on Monday evening if you wish to eat after racing.

Sail training is now underway and the BBQ on Wednesday is sold out! BBQ will start at 18:00 and run until approximately 20:00 participant and online tickets must be collected from the clubhouse. 300 tickets have been sold for this event so we ask for your patience and suggest that families with young children come earlier in the evening and older participants a little later. There will be a temporary bar downstairs (card only) to relieve some of the pressure on the upstairs bar. We have tables and chairs inside for around 60 people, tables and chairs on the balcony can hold around 70 people there are also some chairs in the teaching tent. We recommend you bring a waterproof picnic blanket or camping chairs if you'd like to eat outside, as the ground will be quite damp.

We will be holding a 2nd hand kit sale on Sunday 30th July at 15:00. Please donate clean & dry sailing gear into the box in the lobby (no broken things please). All funds raised will be donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Sailing Week is fast approaching! Please book your entry online. If you have any difficulty please get in touch either by email or phone the mobile number (07747 597902). There are 2 social events during the week - Hog Roast on Tuesday 8th and BBQ on Thursday 10th, tickets for these are also available online until 7 days before. Please return your 2022 trophies by Sunday 6th August.

The Big Summer Party. This year we are thrilled to be offering an evening of fun and dancing! A cold buffet will be served in the marquee from 18:30 and The Nod will be playing 2 sets starting at 20:00. The whole clubhouse will be open and all ages are welcome to the biggest party of the year! Tickets are available online.

Below is our July menu, there will also be specials on the blackboard changing regularly plus sweet and savoury bar snacks available all day, please do ask staff what is available. If you have any questions regarding special dietary requirements please ask us when ordering your food.
