Welcome to Brancaster Staithe Sailing Club

We are a friendly, family sailing club, located on the beautiful North Norfolk coast.

We enjoy a stunning sailing area, a lively clubhouse that serves great food, and a great environment to learn to sail - especially for juniors.

Please browse the site to learn more, and do get in contact if you would like to visit or are interested in joining, and click here to see what's happening in the Clubhouse  See you on the water!

Sunday April 29th at 1100 in the Clubhouse.

This is open to all members who are on the OOD rota and anyone who may be interested.

It will be an informal run through the OOD Guidelines followed by a session where we can discuss any problems running a race.

Hope to see you there.

Malcolm Collins

Sail Training 2018
The window for applications this year is from 1st - 10th March.   Applications are to be made on an electronic application form which will be made available on the sail training website during this period only.

Places are not allocated on a first come first served basis (applications will only be reviewed after the 10th March).  Please make sure you have read and understood the following before making an application for your child.

  1. There are new recommended age limits for the higher end courses (Stage 4, Start Racing,  Improve Your Racing and Sailing with Spinnakers).  See individual course pages for details.
  2. All Trainee Assistant Instructors (TAIs) will be expected to complete and pass the Seamanship Skills Course which will run on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August.
  3. For the higher end courses (stage 3 and above), parents and children need to understand that merely completing a course one year and then enrolling on the next RYA stage the following summer with no practice in between is not sufficient.  This year, copies of the child's log book will be requested in order to be accepted on to the higher end courses.  May half term is a great opportunity to get more hours in the log books.
  4. We are offering a new (non RYA) course, Improve Your Racing, which is aimed at those that have previously completed the Start Racing course and competed in a BSSC sailing week or equivalent.  Recommended age 12 plus.
Prices are still under discussion but will be very close to those of 2017.  We intend to send confirmation to successful and unsuccessful applicants by the end of April.  Please note that following notice of a place on a course, full payment will be required to secure that place.
All inquiries should be made to Georgie Child and Charlie Vivian at
BSSC Sail Training Committee
