Dinghy Sailing Notes

H – Handicap racing.
C – Class racing.

# Denotes Typhoon Trophy Race - 5 out of 9 races to count

Malcolm Collins is the Race Officer for all dinghy races (Senior and Junior), unless otherwise indicated in the Sailing Programme.

If three or more juniors request a race, one may be arranged for them outside their normal programme. It must be understood that the Race Officer has limited resources and the Juniors may have to sail the Senior course.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the designated Race Officer to arrange a substitute if they are unable to officiate on their programmed day

Cruiser Sailing Notes

Cr - Cruiser racing over either a single tide, T or over a day's sailing, D.

Final details of the start times and courses to be decided on the day.

Radio - Channel 72

Start - Generally to seaward between last two channel buoys opposite the Golf Club.

Signals - As per sailing notes C and P flags

Declarations on the Notice Board for the following before October 1st:-

Peter White Cup - Fastest time, corrected to PYN, from Fairway Buoy round Woolpack and back.

Cruising Cup - Longest distance logged on a single cruise from Brancaster and return.

Battson Trophy - Best log for any voyage completed by any BSSC Cruiser in 2004.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the designated Race Officer to arrange a swap or a substitute if they are unable to perform their programmed duty.

Hawk Sailing Notes

Hk – Hawk racing.

Meet one hour before scheduled start to finalise details of course etc.

Juniors Sailing Notes

J – Junior racing.

On any weekend when no Junior Racing is programmed and at least three Juniors so request, a race may be run.

The Easter Regatta is now open to all dinghies

The Laser Radial Trophy is for Laser Radials only.

A person under eighteen on 1st January 2005 may take part in all Junior events with the exception of the Oram Trophy.

The Oram Trophy is open to anyone 16 or under on the day of the race, for this trophy two out of three races will count.

The Junior Series, the Jamieson Cup Race, all the Pennant Races will be divided into fast (PY less than 1280) and slow (PY 1280 and above) handicap fleets.

For the Adult & Junior Race there will be a trophy for the first boat (on handicap) helmed by a junior and a trophy for the first boat (on handicap) helmed by a senior.

# Denotes Junior Club Championship Race.

To qualify for the Junior Club Championship competitors must sail the same boat in at least 5 of the Junior Series Races and any 2 from the RLNI Pennant Race, the Shipwrecked Mariners Pennant and the Jamieson Cup Race.

Juniors are invited to join the Senior racing for the Autumn Series
